Featured Community Site: Tabula Blogger

The Tabula Blogger is more than just a blog. From guides, to contests, to podcasts - the Tabula Blogger has many features to entertain the Tabula Rasa Gamer.

What prompted you to create a fansite for Tabula Rasa?

I fell in love with TR from the moment it was first announced and seeing all the artwork on the original promotion website. After Beta and then release I found myself chatting about it so much that it seemed a natural progression to include it in a blog separate from my personal blog posts. This game is so special and such a refreshing change from all the fantasy based games out there. The combat pace and overall enjoyment factor makes it very fun to play!

What are some of the most popular sections of your site?

Well the News and the Guides are always very popular, aside from that, its often the collaborations with Shawn from TabulaCast that get the most hits and feedback, such as the recent hide and seek competition we held on the EU server and of course each episode of the TabulaCast podcast we do together every week www.tabulacast.com . The Q & A with Avatea the EU Community Coordinator was REALLY popular, I think players are lucky to have the support they receive from everyone at NCSoft.

Because I have the freedom of a blog, my posts can be anything I feel passionate about at the time, the blog tends to follow what I have been doing in game. If I am PvPing then the blog will be my thoughts on PVP. If I have spent lots of time in Control Point Battles this week you will see me write about these.

I think the reason it is popular because I am just a player enjoying the Tabula Rasa universe so people can relate and naturally want to comment and get involved with my thoughts and ideas.

It really is a direct expression of my game time which makes it such a nice way to extend my TR time outside of the game.

What can players look forward to seeing on your fansite?

It's a very community focused site so I like to encourage TR players to interact with each other both ingame and via my blog. You get a chance to communicate back to me directly making it a two-way medium. Often my writings are just the start of what often becomes a very interesting discussion about Tabula Rasa.

Of course the guides are enjoyed and this is something recently I am expanding on to incorporate more and more.

My views and write ups of in-game occurrences are something you don't get on many more corporate sites as they are very personal experiences.

It's great reporting all the TR news to everyone too and I especially love passing on bits of information about holiday events as players seem to really like that interaction such as the recent St Patrick's day gifts, there was a buzz on the servers and on the site about where we would all catch the GM awarding them.

Something I have recently tried to encourage is for fan art and fiction to be submitted to me to show off to the community. I love this stuff and we have already seen some great videos from players and the community is very talented and its a great compliment to the developers that have created such a rich and rewarding world to play in and write about further.

I think Tabula Blogger is a great place for players who are new to finding the community to come and find, if you as a player have only really played the game without finding the other players out of game its a great place to start as I along with all the other players that frequent the site are very welcoming.

Pop along and say Hi, i'd love to hear from you all!
